The system has an obvious way to remove people who breach trust, become unfit for duty, or abuse their role. The mechanisms below are designed to be firm enough to deter misconduct, but structured enough to reduce the risk of mob dynamics or media driven scapegoating.
Members exit the Assembly through:
1. Natural term completion
2. Public removal voting
Public removal voting is a scheduled, standardised mechanism (at fixed intervals) in which citizens can vote to remove individual members. To support informed judgment, the public record includes attendance, disclosed conflicts of interest, voting history, and a plain language summary of the reasons for any formal complaints — alongside the member’s response.
3. Term limits
4. Death
5. Criminal conviction
6. Constitutional violation (Ethics Council + Review Panel)
When a seat becomes vacant, it is filled at the next rotation point via sortition, preserving the Assembly’s representative composition.
